New Year's day
Watch Channel U's tribute program the night before. I felt very touched. Despite the fact that the station's personnel going seperate ways in 2005, they decided not to feel sad for each other, but instead put in a last ditch effort to create something special and meaningful...I can really feel it...All their efforts and hardwork all going to the hands of mediacorp. But alas, all good things had to come to an end, and using an analogy, it's like graduating from your beloved school, and leaving all your mates behind...Seriously, mediacorp can never beat them, so they decided to take over them...here are the tell tale signs...
1. Channel U was the 1st channel to use dialect, Mediacorp copied them
2. Channel U's variety show was a success, POM PI PI, Media corp again tried to come up with similar things...Remember the petrol station game n the recent chinese language game??
3. Channel U came up with a terrorist show, Channel 8 came up with 1 soon after...
4. Channel U was the 1st channel that come up with the charity show that gives no prizes...
5. Even the documentaries are better, with the exception of "jiao Dian " from channel 8
Channel U DARE to be different and that's what differentiates it from the monotonous 8...However all good things had to come to an end...Hope the creative and the adventurous spirits remains and most importantly, the camaderie...
